Nechita:
As
a child Alexandra Nechita attracted the attention of art critics
and the media who began telling the world about this rarest of
child prodigies – an artist whose work is today, in the world's
finest museums and collections, including the Vatican Collection
in Rome. Today, Nechita's work can also be found in the private
homes of Bill Clinton, David Letterman, Stevie Nicks and Lee
Iacocca and the offices of the Walt Disney Company and Universal
Studios. Her work has been commissioned for the 39th
Annual Grammy Awards, Polaroid Corporation's 50th
Anniversary and the Frank Sinatra and Andre Agassi foundations.
Nechita has been using her art to promote a message of peace for
years. In 2004, Nechita was chosen as the official artist of
the World Music Awards. Nechita's designs were chosen selected
for a set of legal tender commemorative coins entitled, "Peace
Is the Only Option!" The designs were specially approved by
Queen Elizabeth II, whose effigy adorns the coins. Nechita is
currently creating seven monuments -- for each continent of the
world -- dedicated to peace.
Nechita has also been named one of People magazine's 100 Most
Interesting People, one of CBS-TV's Most Fascinating Women of
the Year and Lincoln Center's NuBreed Synergy of the Arts
Outstanding Artist of the Year: Painting.
